Thermal Imagery

Thermal Imaging is one of the most effective preventive electrical maintenance measures for your business. This method of electrical inspection will immediately identify hazardous areas in electrical switchboards, appliances, machinery and wiring that could potentially cause equipment failure or fire. Electrical Thermal Imaging senses variations in the temperature of electrical components in switchboards and electrical infrastructure.

It operates by using a specialised infrared camera to assess the heat in the wiring of electrical components and connections. The thermal camera produces a heat image that gives our electricians an immediate picture of how the systems operate and of any area of high resistance across the connection, which can lead to excessive heat and potential failure, or in extreme cases to fire. Changes in heat are reflected by the colour scale of the thermographic image.

Advantages of Thermal Scanning
  • Minimize the incidence of fire generated by electrical faults
  • Reduce the risk of equipment failure
  • Identify possible issues easily
  • Minimize downtime for the business
  • Identify precisely the location of the problem so that the repair can be specific and planned.
  • Assistance with insurance regulation requirements
  • Boosts safety measures in the workplace
  • Issues can be detected and fixed before problems arise

Temperature can be a sign of trouble ahead. With Fluke thermal cameras you can detect issues before they become problems. Designed for everyday use, in the toughest industrial environments, Fluke offers infrared cameras for a wide range of applications.

Fluke’s thermal scanning
  • Identification and repair of high resistance connections can reduce energy inefficiencies
  • Early identification of potential future failures
  • Photographic documentation and records are collected for reference purposes, allowing repairs to be carried out on a prior basis.
  • Minimize the occurrence of fire due to electrical faults
  • Minimize costly unscheduled downtime caused by major electrical faults
  • Non-thermal and/or safety issues that are evident during our inspection will be detected, photographed, reported and included in your inspection report.
